Kadrin

A new experimental display typeface.

Kadrin is an experimental typeface that fuses the sharp edges of mountain peaks alongside the geometrical beauty of staccato musical scores in a modern display typeface.

Further inspirations for the glyphs was drawn from World War 2 propaganda posters and Ancient Dwarvish rune scripts.

Kadrin is the result of my first experimentation with Open-Type font design. Key elements of this typeface are the sharp angled forms and the perspective geometry glyphs. Kadrin is best suited to large scale designs, strong sharp typography, music editorial headlines and EP covers to name a few.

Kadrin is fully functional with key applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Cinema 4D r12 and r13, InDesign and many more. Kadrin is available in regular and Italic style.

Kadrin is available for purchase at Billelis Store.

Currently priced at £10. Purchase includes both regular and Italic styles.

Type in 3d for a Brazillian Magazine.The challenge was create a Type that shows all the difficulty art director and designers have when they have to choose a good type for each art. So i created a labyrinth to shows that difficulty, with the theme of the story »Types of Typography» . The idea is to be difficulty to read as the choose for a good font.

I used Modo for the 3d and finished in Photoshop.

«Your Type of Book» is an alphabet of typography produced and designed for a typographic assignment.

«Design the most beautiful and useful book on typography you’ve ever seen» is the brief I was given for my «Typography for Print» class, which was taught by the tactile typographer Dominique Falla.

I decided to produce an alphabet of typography containing useful information related to a typographic term, a typographic artwork, a typographer and a typeface. In fact, the quote from Gerard Unger is what inspired me: «It is almost impossible to look and read at the same time: they are different actions.» Every good typographer should have knowledge of both the art and science of typography and my aim in making this book was to create a source of inspiration and reference.

The result is a flexible identity that follows the organisation’s innovative and unorthadox approach. One that goes back to basics, stripping away all that is unneccesary, and championing the anti-engineering approach to everything they do.

A complete graphic system, the flux identity strikes through the greenwashing clichés and clutter that crowd the sustainable category, creating an immediate presence that can’t be ignored.
